Artist's Description

This mixed media collage includes jewelry findings, wire screen, tyvek, artist papers, acrylic paints, acrylic mediums and paper clips. I wanted to complete a piece in black and white, but evidently I am drawn to warm tones and had to add the golden shading as well as the red stones. I like the richness of this piece and the juxtaposition of nature looking things with metals.

Raised primarily in San Antonio, Texas, Phyllis Howard arrived in the Pacific Northwest in 2002 and currently lives in Burlington, Washington.
